The city is the county seat and is located in Yellowstone County, Montana.
Billings was originally founded in 1877. The city is rapidly growing, as it is the 6oth fastest growing city out of the 259 cities in the US with populations over 100,000. It is the largest city between Denver and Calgary.
Billings was recently ranked by Best Life Magazine as the 3rd best place in the U.S. to raise a family.
As of 2008, the population of Billings is estimated to be 103,994.
